VES has designed all its programs with the utmost attention to health and safety and has completed and applied a risk assessment and with existing controls for all its programs. Essential to the Programs VES provides is our focus on the overall wellbeing of the youth in our care, and hence our programs and their delivery take into consideration each youth’s emotional wellbeing. VES's Health and Safety Policy is much more extensive than the information provided here on our website and will be provided where necessary and upon request.
GENERAL: At VES, we implement emergency measures, health requirements, and pandemic controls all in compliance with local rules and regulations. Our application packages seek to know any medical condition that could create a medical emergency or need an immediate response so that our competent staff will be in a position to respond appropriately when a youth is in our care. We give extra attention to proper hand washing and sanitation to ensure hands are kept clean and all high-touch surfaces are sanitized on a regular basis and kept clean. VES’s staff members are learned and knowledgeable people with the reputable status and discipline—several of whom have had many years of successful experiences with children and youth and without incidents. Rather, the commendations are positive.Your children will be looked after as our own children. Our most important goal is to return to you, your child, who has had a positive and indelible experience that was enjoyable.
ONSITE PROGRAMS: Our onsite programs sizes are small and with a ratio of 1:10, respectively adult to youth. The accommodation is clean, spacious, and set in a healthy environment. Should we have an incident, it will be documented and reported to the parent/guardian on that very day (no later than within 24 hours). A copy will be kept in our records. Your child’s records will be kept confidential and will only be released in the case of a medical emergency and/or on the parent/guardian’s permission. So as to protect the health of all in attendance, if your child is sick or unwell, please keep them home until they are better and without a temperature. If a child becomes ill while in our care but does not require immediate treatment by a health-care professional or hospitalization, we will:
1)Contact the parent/guardian to pick up their child; and
2)Care for and give appropriate attention and supervision to the child apart from other children until the parents/guardian arrives.
MEDICATION: As our onsite programs normally run for 45 minutes to an hour, VES nor its staff will administer any medication, including medications that are part of a youth’s normal schedule. If a youth who participate in any of our on-site programs needs daily medication, which falls on/during the period the youth is to attend our program, parents/guardians are encouraged to stay onsite or nearby. Except in an emergency situation, VES will act accordingly in the best interest of the youth and in compliance with local laws and regulations and in accordance with parents/guardian's directives.
PICK-UP: Youth will leave the site in accordance with the parent/guardian’s directives who signed the application for attendance. There is an allowance of 15 mins after the hour for late pick-up, after which a fee will be prorated based on 30 minutes increments of the hourly fee.
MAKE-UP SESSIONS: For each week, if a youth misses a group session, there will be a make-up within the same week on the Saturday afternoon at 14:00 hour. For individual sessions, a make-up will be arranged for and between 10:00 and noon within the same week on the Saturday morning. Arrangements for make-up must be made in advance by Thursday of the same week and in writing. Skipped sessions that are not made-up will not be refunded, unless there are unusual circumstances like sickness, and in which case notice in writing by email must be received by VES and no later than the Thursday of said week by 19:00 hour.
